Scope/Position Summary

The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager in the overall planning, directing and evaluating the activities of the unit staff.  In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager assumes total responsibility on a twenty-four hour basis.  The Assistant Nurse Manager works with Director of Procedural, Support Service Managers, Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and Information Associate, evaluating the flow of patient care in the procedural areas, trouble-shooting areas of the unit which need improvement and implementing changes.  The Assistant Manager works with the Nurse Manager to coordinate staff orientation and education. 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Registered Nurse. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
