Scope of Position 

Under the direction of the Director, Quality Program Coordination, this position will oversee programs and projects designed to develop and implement OSUWMC-specific references and tools to support evidence-based guideline recommendations and best practices to improve patient care processes, reduce variation in practice, and support medical education. In addition, this position will oversee the development of processes to measure and evaluate use of guidelines and outcomes of care, design real-time evaluation mechanisms, and provide feedback to clinicians to improve care.

Position Summary

The Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) Lead oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical practice guidelines within OSUWMC. This role ensures that healthcare professionals have access to evidence-based recommendations to improve patient care quality and safety.

Minimum Requirements

  • Required bachelor’s degree in health-related specialty, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in healthcare quality management required. 

  • Strong analytical skills required.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in health-related specialty

  • 8-12 years of relevant healthcare quality management experience

  • Strong clinical background

  • Prior supervisory experience

  • Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and timeline management.

  • A thorough understanding of evidence-based medicine principles, systematic review methodology, and guideline development processes.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills to effectively lead a team and manage a program.

  • Ability to analyze complex clinical information, identify problems, and develop solutions.

  • Understanding of relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement principles.

  • Strong project management experience and experience using a variety of quality tools required (e.g., DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, PDSA).

  • Demonstrate a solid history of achieving results with complex and dynamic teams.
