Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Medical Center’s mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, teaching and research. The Patient Care Coordinator - Registered Nurse (PCC-RN) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, who reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The Pre Op & PACU RN will be responsible for working collaboratively with all staff & providing patient care throughout the PAT, Pre Op and PACU patient care areas.
Position Summary
The PCC-RN is responsible for managing the pre-operative surgical clearance process under the Medical Director guidance. The PCC-RN prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership and development of the patient care team. Individuals within this position must be able to function fully within performance expectations defined for nurses in a surgical setting. Position located at the JCSMI Outpatient Surgery Center – 2835 Fred Taylor Drive. Late coverage is assigned on a rotating basis.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire:
Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio licensure or interim permit.
Previous surgical center experience preferred.
On going:
Maintains knowledge related to patient care issues, quality improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures, and protocols. Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements.
Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.
