Scope of Position:

This Lead Medical Technologist directs the daily operation of the laboratory and provides leadership within the area.  The tests include methodologies ranging from low to moderate to high complexity.  This lead technologist performs specialized laboratory procedures, verifies and reports test requests and results and is directly responsible for the technical quality of tests performed in the laboratory.  Administrative duties include personnel evaluations (PACE), technical procedure writing/implementation, assisting with scheduling, training and record keeping.  This person is responsible for all levels of testing, preventive maintenance and quality control under the supervision of the Chief Medical Technologist and the Medical Director.


Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Sciences. American Society of Clinical Pathology Certification in Medical Technology or Molecular Biology. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
