Clinical Research Assistant responsible for the coordination and oversight of clinical research protocols investigating hematology malignancies (hairy cell leukemia) primarily in observational studies, within the Division of Hematology (IM); coordinates clinical research activities to include identifying and assessing eligibility of patients for clinical research study participation; discussing research studies with patients and their family members; obtains informed consent and assists with IRB submissions, collaborates with an inter-disciplinary research team made up of members from the Division of Hematology, other personnel within the OSUWMC, as well as external; ensures that all necessary data is collected and reported as appropriate; participates in internal and external quality reviews; ensures and verifies data integrity. Generates reports and reviews to ensure validity of data; supports activities to ensure compliance with all Institutional Review Boards (IRB), assists with coordinating and preparing for external quality assurance and control reviews by IRB, or sponsors.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, health sciences or other medical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; knowledge of medical terminology desired; clinical research certification from an accredited certifying agency desired; computer skills required with experience using Microsoft Software applications desired. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
