The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for the position of Manager 3, Reporting and Analytics. This position functions as the lead of the Informatics subsection of the GRC’s Research Section and functions as an Assistant Director of Research and Analytics.  The GRC engages in applied health services and population health research in a project-based team setting.  GRC’s Informatics section currently consists of 12 researchers who specialize in statistical methodology, data visualization, interactive dashboards, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).  The successful candidate will: (1) Lead the Informatics section by mentoring and supervising multiple staff members and managers while managing project deliverables and quality assurance; (2) Contribute to project work as a mentor, guide, and  technical or subject matter expert, and/or team or task lead;  (3) coordinate Informatics section activities such as hiring and project assignments; (4) contribute to new project development; and (5) assist in leadership activities across GRC’s organization.         

 

The successful candidate should have significant experience managing and leading teams working in the following areas: statistical methodology, data visualization, interactive dashboards, and GIS. Examples of specific domains within statistical methodology that are applicable to GRC’s work are survey sampling and methodology, small area estimation, statistical process control, probabilistic linkage, causal inference methods, and predictive modelling.  GRC’s current portfolio of interactive dashboards includes applications in both R-Shiny and Tableau. 

 

Examples of relevant domain experience for a successful candidate include population health, substance use disorder, maternal and infant health, Medicaid claims analysis, electronic health records, and quality improvement methods for healthcare. The successful candidate should have substantial expertise in R with the ability to mentor and teach others. The successful candidate should also have experience using Git for version control and collaboration.  In addition, experience or expertise with Tableau or other data visualization software, R-Shiny, SQL, and ArcGIS will be helpful.    

 

Experience and Education:  

 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with evidence of increasing responsibility

 

Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

 

Preferred: 

  • Supervisory experience
  • Doctoral degree in relevant field of study 
  • Experience as a Principal or Co-Principal Investigator
  • Current residency in the State of Ohio or willingness to relocate upon employment preferred.
