The postgraduate  Acute/Critical Care fellowship for advanced practice nurses and physician assistants at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) enables advanced practice nurses and physician assistants to gain first-hand clinical experience and knowledge specific to critical care. Rotations include emergency department, cardiology, nephrology, internal medicine, stroke, trauma, acute care surgery, endocrine, infectious disease, hepatology oncology and rotations through our Medical Intensive Care, Neuro-Critical Care and Surgical Intensive Care Units.

As the only cancer program in the country that features a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center aligned with a nationally-ranked academic medical center and a free standing cancer hospital on the campus of a large public university, the OSUCCC-James has partnered with Ohio State’s Center for Critical Care to create an environment that fosters excellence in patient care for the critically ill patient population.

Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center, in partnership with The James, has created the Center for Critical Care, a platform of collaboration providing innovative solutions for patients undergoing critical care. The Center pursues a vision of an integrated critical care delivery system that creates a better future for patients with life-threatening illness through research, education and innovative patient care.

Position Summary:
The Advanced Practice (APP) Fellow provides health care services to adult patients working in collaboration with a licensed member of CHRI medical staff. Health care services provided include care during acute phases of illness, education and counseling of individuals and families.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current license and certificate of authority to practice as a CNP in the State of Ohio. Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.  Masters degree in Nursing. AGACNP preferred
OR

Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program.  National Certification Commission for Physician Assistant certification.  Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a physician assistant. Masters degree.
