The Department of Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics at The Ohio State University invites applications for Assistant and Associate Professor tenure track positions. The Department of Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics is a newly formed Department in the College of Medicine. The vision of the Department is to create and develop a Department linking fundamental science to translational research through collaboration and synergies within the OSU environment. The overall goal is to accelerate translation of fundamental science to improve health.
The Department emphasizes three thematic scientific areas: 1) Foundational therapeutics from drug design through development and validation; 2) tissue engineering and stem cell biology; and 3) molecular medicine and systems biology. The strategic growth plan for the Department involves interdepartmental and college collaboration and also is supported by the OSU NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute. There is emphasis on cancer and cardio-pulmonary and metabolic translational science.
We are specifically seek applications from exceptional basic and translational scientists with research programs in the thematic scientific areas noted above with translational interests in cardiometabolic diseases, cardio-pulmonary diseases, and cancer. If a clinical practice is desired, collaborative hiring will be planned with appropriate clinical departments. Successful candidates will be expected to have a strong record of research accomplishment as assessed by publications and extramural peer-reviewed funding. Preferred qualifications include experience developing or working in interdisciplinary research teams.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and anticipated academic level.
