Scope of Position 

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) Harding Hospital provides the most comprehensive behavioral healthcare services for adults in central Ohio, offering more treatment options and a more experienced and diversified staff than any other psychiatric or behavioral healthcare provider in the area. All of our inpatient, outpatient, IOP, Partial Hospitalization, and emergency services include a comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis from a qualified clinician and implementation of an individualized treatment plan.  We offer specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Psychosis, Trauma- and Stress-Related Disorders, and Sexual Dysfunction.  We offer specialty programs in Women’s Behavioral Health, Addictions, Trauma, and Neurocognitive Disorders.

As part of the region’s only academic medical center, Harding Hospital collaborates across the OSUWMC and works closely with the faculty and staff of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health and Talbot Hall to serve a highly acute patient population while training future multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. The Associate Director provides strategic leadership to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care while driving innovation and excellence across all services.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the Director in managing program operations, supervising clinical and administrative staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, quality and safety, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes behavioral health recovery. The Associate Director contributes to strategic planning, program development, and quality improvement initiatives while maintaining high standards of care for individuals and families affected by behavioral health disorders.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire: Master’s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Counseling, with Independent Ohio License to practice, with supervisory status (LISW-S or LPCC-S). Documented supervisory experience required. A minimum of seven years of experience working with patients with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is also required. Experience and/or training in at least one evidence-based psychotherapy modality (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy) is preferred. Prior leadership and supervisory experience is required.
