The Clinical Research Assistant to provide support to the Center for Tobacco Research within the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Responsibilities:
· Participant recruitment, screening, scheduling and conducting visits
· Contacts and responds to inquiries from study participants
· Schedules patients for research appointments and provides timely reminders
· Maintains study logs, participant folders, study database, REDCap database
· Works with other study teams in communicating use of shared rooms and resources
· Bio-specimen processing, storage, and shipping
· Pick up Clincards and process participant payments using Clincard
· Lab quality control
· Data quality control
· Purchasing and organizing study materials
· Reporting and regulatory tasks
· Performs other duties as assigned by project leader or management
Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences or medical field, or equivalent combination of education experience. Experience in research capacity is desired, 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Knowledge or experience in lung physiology, exercise physiology or exercise science is preferred. Experience performing basic laboratory procedures to process biological specimens is desired. Experience in customer service is desired. Computer skill required with knowledge of database software applications like REDCap and excel is desired. CPR/AED certification is desired. Ability to work on weeks to fit with research participants schedule is desired.
