Scope of Position
This office coordinates and manages the administrative activities of The OSUWMC The Ross Heart Hospital (hereafter The Ross) under the direction of the Director, Heart and Vascular Center. The department houses the administrative team that is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hospital.
Position Summary
This position will have the primary responsibility of coordinating and managing the day-to-day activities including business function of the office of the Director, Heart and Vascular Center. This position will also be responsible for ensuring policy adherence and excellent customer service delivery to the hospital administrative team. This position will involve interactions at all levels of the organization and the public. It will be responsible to develop and coordinate material and follow-up on request. This position will draft and compose letters and/or reports, take dictation, minutes, arrange meetings, reservations, travel, order supplies, food, etc. This position will also be responsible for assisting with other assigned administrator's calendars as needed (e.g. Medical Director of The Ross, Administrator, Associate Executive Director) and Director of Outreach.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Up to 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Per Classified Civil Svc Specs Required Qualifications Six months experience (600 hours training) using computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; 6 mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in office practices and procedures; 6 months experience (600 hours course work) in customer service. Some positions require one year related medical secretarial experience or completion of an associate's degree program with three courses in medical terminology plus 3 mos. experience (300 hours training) in use of word processing equipment, consistent with position description. Some positions require 6 mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in supervision consistent with position description.
Preferred Experience
Sound judgment, the ability to prioritize work, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions and recommend appropriate action.
Business experience in an administrative capacity is preferred.
Knowledge of University policies, rules and regulations is preferred.
