The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, and research.  Community based wellness programming is positioned within the healthy community’s framework, meeting the population where they are, to provide wellness programing and services. These programs focus on overall health and wellness, exercise, education, and behavior change. The exercise physiologist (EP) is a vital part of the wellness team. They will be responsible for activities involved in the delivery and coordination of the healthy community wellness programs. The EP will be responsible for exercise programming, group exercise supervision, health coaching and participant tracking. The EP will have responsibilities in areas of data collection, data entry and data tracking for programs and any research initiatives

The exercise physiologist (EP) serves as a key member of the Healthy Communities Programs Team that includes the Lifestyle Weight Management Program, Parkinson’s Disease Community Program, and Exercise Is Medicine (EIM) program. The EP will report to and work closely with the Associate Director and Wellness Program Manager in the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Healthy Communities Programs.  The EP will contact, schedule and follow-up with participants, deliver specific program components, collect and enter data to various databases. Must be able to develop and administer a comprehensive pre-activity screening and be able to provide exercise guidance as an extended member of the health care team. Has a concentrated knowledge and mastery of exercise prescription and fitness for a wide scope of special populations. Duties will also include coordinating an extension between health care providers, Healthy Community Programs and other healthy communities related programming.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or related degree. Knowledge of computers, exceptional customer relations skills.
