Program Coordinator--Graduate Medical Education coordinates, oversees and provides day-to-day management of the graduate medical education programs (fellowships) and associated sub-fellowships within the Department of Internal Medicine; serves as initial contact; administers application, interview, and selection processes; coordinates accreditation requirements for enrolled trainees; facilitates fellow hiring process and organizes orientation; works with Department Education Team, Fellowship Program Directors and Chief fellows; maintains education and teaching activities logs, trainee accreditation files, and required credentialing documents; maintains multiple computer databases and evaluation databases; prepares reports, charts and/or statistics; composes correspondence on behalf of the program; acts as liaison between hospital, attending physicians, fellows and Fellowship Program Directors; ensures compliance with hospital policies; attends meetings within the hospital & college as well as locally and nationally; works with Division Administrators and department finance staff to develop fellowship program budgets and ensure funds are used properly in adherence to university expenditure policies; schedules and coordinates meetings; coordinates and arranges complex national and international travel; mentors new education team members and coordinates activities supporting the strategic education mission of the divisions and department; works on special assignments and projects as directed.
