Scope of Position

The Diagnostic division encompasses stationary and portable radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment located in University Hospital, East Hospital, Brain and Spine Hospital, Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital, Harding Hospital, James Cancer Hospital and OSUWMC Ambulatory Imaging locations. Plain film and fluoroscopic procedures are performed utilizing state of the art Digital Radiography equipment.

Position Summary

The Lead Radiographic Imaging Technologist position performs all duties of the Radiologic Technologist, in addition to coordinating daily workflow, daily assignments, patient flow, and provides support to the operations of the department. The lead provides all quality assessment activities for the imaging site in addition to the maintenance of accreditation preparedness for the site. The lead will provide assistance in assessing technologists’ performance for annual merit increases as well as orient new staff to the department. The lead may cover additional Imaging Supervisor/Manager responsibilities as necessary, in the Supervisor/Manager’s absence or should a vacancy occur. The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures for the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease or injury.  In addition, the position provides patient education and performs quality assessment activities for the division, under the direction of the Imaging Services leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire: Current Radiography license, ARRT (R) required. Current Radiography ODH license required. Minimum Associates Degree in relevant field of study required. Minimum 2 years’ experience in modality over which the employee is a lead.

               

Ongoing: Maintains registry/licensing status; meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements.  Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
