Dietetic technicians are responsible for providing and/or assisting in the provision of food nutritional care to patients which includes screening, meal selection, ongoing nutrition intervention and diet education. Care is provided according to the department and medical center policies and procedures under the supervision of a registered/licensed dietitian. Dietetic technicians organize their work and set priorities to meet daily job duties; provide and/or assist in staff, student and community education and meet professional development goals.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Registered dietetic technician and/or registration eligible with verification letter / or 4-year Dietetics degree from AND certified didactic program with verification letter.
Previous work experience as a dietetic technician is preferred.
The 2-year Diet Technician graduate is expected to take registration exam within 6 months of employment.
