Scope/Position Summary

This position provides management for the patient care services of the ambulatory care pharmacy team. This position assists with the implementation and maintenance of an enterprise-wide pharmacy practice model, specifically contributing to the area of ambulatory pharmacy services. This position is responsible for direct supervision of a portion of the ambulatory care pharmacists. This includes oversight of staff in the areas of productivity, quality, cost, and continued compliance with all national, state, and local regulations. This position supports The Ohio State University’s research and education missions. For the purposes of this job description, patient care services refer, but are not limited to the following activities: patient care encounters, placing orders, medication therapy management, population health management, pharmacotherapy, collaborative drug therapy management under a consult agreement, and educating patients, healthcare professionals, and students. 

Minimum Qualifications        

For Hire: This position must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy or be eligible for licensure. A B.Sc. in Pharmacy, or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) is required. An advanced administrative degree (M.S., MHA, MPH, MBA) is preferred.  Post-graduate residency training is preferred. In addition, a significant track record in scholarship and teaching are preferred.
