Design, support and conduct detailed complex scientific studies, functioning as a subject expert on one of more phases of the project(s); prepare and/or present seminars, talks or lectures for dissemination of knowledge, particularly the results of research undertaken; assist in the management of one of more phases of the research effort; assist in the selection of key research personnel, including undergraduate and graduate students, to work on project(s) undertaken; work with and coordinate collaborating research staff and provide input on research methods and procedures necessary to achieve desired goals; advise undergraduate and graduate students in the analysis and interpretation of research data; responsible for the extraction, analysis and presentation of research data; coordinate the analysis of research findings and prepare detailed summaries for submission to the sponsoring agencies; responsible for the development of research designs and procedures for data analysis on the project(s); write, edit and/or approve progress reports, technical reports and journal articles; edit grant proposals and draft IRB documents for submission; assist in the establishment of working relationships with potential sponsors and in the submission of detailed research proposals to governmental and private agencies.


Minimum Education Required

A doctoral degree in molecular biology/cellular biology/ biomedical sciences is required by the start date.

Required Qualifications

Experience in a basic science, cellular biology, molecular biology research is required.  

Desired Qualifications

Strong analytical skills, in vitro and in vivo experimental design and execution, strong expertise in immunology with multi-color flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, Western blot analysis, experience analyzing large and complex data sets, and strong organizational and administrative skills. Strong verbal and written communications skills are required. Experience working with human specimens is desired but not required.
