Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab focusing on Investigating the pathological functions of lactate in the development of lung fibrosis, Elucidating mechanisms of myofibroblast differentiation and apoptosis resistance via cellular communication, Exploring the role of fibrotic fibroblasts in the pathogenesis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF); collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and Institutions; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attends research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; performs additional duties as assigned.
Drs. Jeffrey Horowitz and Richard Nho in the Department of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Scientist to join our team focused on Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) research. This position is supported by a newly awarded R01 grant and will involve cutting-edge research on the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving lung fibrosis. Extensive cellular and molecular biology expertise (required). Experience with in vivo experimental techniques (highly desirable). Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
