Position Summary
The Research Associate will support a collaborative research project between OSU and Funder focused on improving food utilization, dietary quality, and food security in Appalachian communities. This role involves applied research, evaluation, and nutrition-informed guidance to inform community food distribution and education strategies.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement evaluation tools (e.g., logic models, food security surveys, dietary assessments)
Design culturally relevant nutrition and handling guidance for produce distribution
Prepare written deliverables, including stakeholder briefs, internal reports, and scientific manuscripts
Contribute to data analysis and literature reviews for broader lab research projects
Assist in developing conference abstracts, posters, and co-authored publications
Support general lab functions and collaborate with faculty, students, and community partners
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis preferred. Familiarity with community-based research or culturally responsive food/nutrition programs preferred. Interest in contributing to publications and future grant development.
