Position Summary

The Research Associate will support a collaborative research project between OSU and Funder focused on improving food utilization, dietary quality, and food security in Appalachian communities. This role involves applied research, evaluation, and nutrition-informed guidance to inform community food distribution and education strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement evaluation tools (e.g., logic models, food security surveys, dietary assessments)

  • Design culturally relevant nutrition and handling guidance for produce distribution

  • Prepare written deliverables, including stakeholder briefs, internal reports, and scientific manuscripts

  • Contribute to data analysis and literature reviews for broader lab research projects

  • Assist in developing conference abstracts, posters, and co-authored publications

  • Support general lab functions and collaborate with faculty, students, and community partners

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis preferred. Familiarity with community-based research or culturally responsive food/nutrition programs preferred. Interest in contributing to publications and future grant development.
