Research Senior Technician - Comprehensive Cancer Center

The Research Senior Technician participates in planning, design, execution, and management of research projects in Dr. Liping Yang’s group (https://medicine.osu.edu/find-faculty/non-clinical/molecular-medicine-and-therapeutics/liping-yang) at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Ohio State University. Participates in developing and implementing goals and objectives of studies; designs and executes complex laboratory experiments; performs advanced molecular and cellular (spectral flow cytometry, single-cell proteomics/genomics, CRISPR, highly multiplexed tissue imaging, spatial transcriptomics, etc.); take care of mice, perform animal studies, handle weaning, genotyping, and breeding, collect mouse tissues and isolate mouse primary cells; collects, analyzes and interprets research data; assists with development and implementation of new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques; tests experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods and make recommendations for utilization; assists in establishment of controls, criteria and research standards; performs critical analysis of literature relevant to research being undertaken; assists in the preparation of research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and conferences and workshops, and in the writing of project reports, articles and other documents; assists principal investigator in the preparation of proposals to obtain new or renewal of extramural funding in support of research; conducts library research on requested topics through researching current literature; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities; assists with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; sets up and operates laboratory equipment; monitors research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed.

Minimum Experience Required


Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree. Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.
