Medical Information Management
The Medical Information Management (MIM) Department at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center plays a crucial role in maintaining, securing, and ensuring the integrity of patient information. Their responsibilities encompass supporting patient care, education, research, health system operations, connect site affiliates and administrative needs. By effectively managing medical record data and information resources, they ensure that accurate and confidential patient information is readily available for making informed medical decisions. The department adheres to hospital policies, procedures, bylaws, and third-party regulatory requirements, upholding high standards for medical record-keeping.
Scope of Position
A Medical Information Management Student Intern serves in a variety of functional areas within the department in addition to assisting with special projects as assigned by the respective manager. Conduct tasks and duties to support health system and community connect affiliates in support of Medical Information Management operations functions.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Students enrolled in OSU programs designed to achieve a Bachelor degree in Health Information Systems. Other OSU students will be considered.
For Business Manager, students enrolled in OSU programs designed to achieve a Bachelor’s degree within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
