To assist and provide support of research studies as directed in the laboratory of Dr. James Blachly; conducts planned research activities using observation, measurement and analytical techniques; prepares solutions and live culture media for scientific experiments; performs a variety of assays and experimental tests; collects, sorts and processes tissue and blood samples; records and consolidates research data; performs routine experimental procedures on laboratory animals including surgical procedures and/or administration of drugs; assists with preparation of data and materials for inclusion in research reports, publications and grant applications written by principal investigator; researches current scientific literature on specified topics; assists with instructing research aides, undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory procedures and operation of equipment; calibrates various laboratory equipment and operates microscopes, centrifuges and other laboratory equipment; assists with ordering, stocking and maintenance of research supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma / GED required. Must be enrolled in a degree granting program at Ohio State University.
