This position will work in a close collaborative relationship with the Trauma and Burn Registry team, Trauma and Burn PI Coordinator, Trauma Data Manager and Trauma and Burn Program Managers. The registrar is responsible for the collection, entry, maintenance, and reporting of data for the level one Trauma Center and the Verified Burn center as required by appropriate regulatory agencies. Utilizing analytical, cognitive, and leadership skills, the registrar shall utilize the collected data for injury research, epidemiology, prevention initiatives and performance improvement. The data shall be obtained from EPIC/IHIS medical records and other data sources identified. The registrar will code and enter data into the computerized trauma and burn registries while always maintaining confidentiality. It is important to acknowledge that high-quality data begins with high-quality data entry, and it is the trauma registrar who is responsible to perform this task. The Trauma Registrar must be willing to travel several times a year for educational events associated with skill development and maintenance. The Trauma Program will provide education regarding all registries including but not limited to TQIP, BQIP and ICD-10 software platforms.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
