Scope of Position 

The Clinical Research Finance & Compliance (CRFC) Department plays a vital role in supporting the financial infrastructure of oncology clinical trials. CRFC is responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations, including project budgeting, contract negotiation, revenue forecasting, and post-award accounting.

Key functions of the department include:

  • Project costing and financial forecasting

  • Contract and budget negotiation

  • Revenue recognition and monthly reconciliation

  • Invoicing, accounts receivable, and audit compliance

  • Coverage analysis, patient claim review, and reimbursement processing

CRFC partners closely with the Clinical Trials Office (CTO), Principal Investigators (PIs), and research and business units across the Medical Center and College of Medicine. The team ensures accurate and timely financial communication and transactions with both internal stakeholders and external sponsors.

Position Summary 

The Associate Manager, Financial Operations, is a key leadership role within the Clinical Research Finance & Compliance (CRFC) team. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting and reconciliation (“Post-Award”) function, which supports the financial performance of oncology clinical trials within the OSU Cancer Program. The Associate Manager plays a critical role in achieving the Clinical Trials Office’s (CTO) annual revenue targets and ensuring operational excellence.

This role supervises a mid-sized team of Financial Operations Analysts and Business Transactions & Services Coordinators. In collaboration with the Associate Director, the Associate Manager leads recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts, while also driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or Management or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience. 3 - 5 years working within relevant field. Intermediate-level experience with all Microsoft Office Programs (especially Excel) is required.
