Scope of Position
The Business Operations Manager, Ross Heart Hospital provides comprehensive oversight of the Department including decision support and implementation of strategic growth plans, operational, financial, administrative, facilities, outreach and other business activities across the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (“OSUMC”) system.
The Business Operations Manager monitors and influences the financial and operational performance and direction of the Department and promotes resource stewardship. They provide leadership in developing and translating financial budget and operational metrics into meaningful action for the Department. The Business Operations Manager works with all members of the Department to promote OSUMC’s tripartite mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care while ensuring the financial viability of the programs and hospital.
Position Summary
The Business Operations Manager collaborates closely with stakeholders and leaders of the Heart & Vascular Service Line and Ross Heart Hospital to facilitate progress toward strategic, operational and financial goals and is accountable for supporting the alignment of operations of the business units they support. The Manager supervises and coordinates multiple activities, including statistical analysis, performance and managerial reporting of specified Ross clinical services, decision and budget support, interdisciplinary capital planning and execution, and financial, and operational improvement initiatives. The Manager will lead and/or participate in enterprise-wide improvement initiatives aimed at improving access to care, clinical quality, safety, and operational efficiency and at planning for facility and/or programmatic expansion.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. MHA or MBA preferred.
6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
Background in project management and process improvement in healthcare preferred.
Experience developing financial models and leading financial process improvement work.
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects.
Ability to learn new systems software.
Independent and self-motivated.
Relationship builder and team player accustomed to using data analytics for driving decisions.
