Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue education and experience in research under the supervision of designated faculty in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology, for a period generally not to exceed three years; performs basic science and applied research in the field of Gene Therapy and/or Visual science with considerable scope and complexity; identifies and selects problems to be studied in agreement with Principal Investigator; plans and performs complex experiments and procedures; coordinates, collects, and analyzes data; prepares research results for publication in reports, papers, journal, books, presentations, conference and other media; prepare seminars, talks, and lectures; supervise over assigned research staff and students; assists with laboratory techniques and operates laboratory equipment; performs basic lab maintenance duties; maintains lab supplies; and other duties as assigned.

The general research interest is to explore gene therapy solutions including gene modulation and gene editing to treat various ocular diseases, and to study Adeno-associated virus (AAV) biology.
