Student Assistant for Nursing Research

Scope of Position 

The Student Assistant performs data collection and clinical research activities (within scope of practice as an undergraduate nursing student) with direct supervision from the Clinical Nurse Scientist. As Key Personnel on research proposal, identifies and assesses persons eligible for protocol participation, discusses potential subject enrollment, gathers clinical data, and enters data into database. Ensures all research activities are in compliance to protocol and federal regulations.

Position Summary 

The Student Assistant is responsible for support services to patients and research projects, as directed by the Clinical Nurse Scientist.  The Student Assistant participates in data collection, data processing, and research-related activities.  Services are provided in collaboration with other members of the research and nursing care teams.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire: Background in health-related professions. Previous health care experience or service oriented field experience and/or research study experience is preferred.

On going: Demonstrated competence to meet essential job functions. Maintains knowledge related to patient care issues. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements.
