The Clinical Research Center (CRC) is a hospital-based research unit within The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and located on the 2nd floor of Davis Outpatient Care. Core areas of the CRC are: Analytical and Development Laboratory, Processing Laboratory, Research Nutrition Laboratory, Study Coordination, and Nursing. The CRC provides services for research in both inpatient and outpatient studies.

The Lab Services Coordinator-Research is responsible for the receipt, preparation, processing, documentation, storage, and tracking of research specimens in accordance with established laboratory protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. This role supports research studies by ensuring samples are handled accurately, efficiently, and consistently while maintaining data integrity and specimen chain of custody.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Health related Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Required

2 years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Experience and Skills

2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Lab experience desired; working knowledge of the principles, operations and maintenance of laboratory equipment & procedures required; background in molecular biology & biochemistry desired; computer literacy required with a working knowledge of Microsoft software programs desired.

Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

This position is located on the University Hospital campus and is required to be on site Monday-Friday during business hours.
